Overview
Citizenship is one of the four aims of Scouting America program. For Tigers citizenship begins at home and their den. They will explore how they can contribute to their home and community. Prior to any activity, use Scouting America SAFE Checklist to ensure the safety of all those involved. All participants in official Scouting America activities should become familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting and applicable program literature or manuals.
Requirements
Requirement 1
Play a game with your den, or family members, that has a set of rules. Discuss why rules are important to the game you are playing.
Activities:
- Card Game – Go Fish (Indoor, energy 2, supplies 2, prep 2) Play a game of Go Fish!
- Tigers Play Cornhole (Outdoor, energy 3, supplies 5, prep 2) Play a game of cornhole.
- Tigers Play Kickball (Outdoor, energy 5, supplies 2, prep 2) Play a game of kickball.
Requirement 2
With your Tiger Adult Partner, choose a job that will help your team. Follow through by doing that job at least once.
Activities:
- Tiger Flag Ceremony (Travel, energy 3, supplies 3, prep 5) Participate in a flag-raising ceremony for your school.
- Tiger Greeter (Indoor, energy 2, supplies 1, prep 4) Tiger den serve as greeters for the pack meeting.
- Tigers Help Clean Up (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 1, prep 1) Help set up and clean up for a pack meeting.
Requirement 3
Play a game that requires at least 2 teams with your den, or two other family members. Afterwards discuss what it means to be part of a team and what makes a good team member.
Activities:
- Tiger Charades (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 2, prep 1) Play a game of charades with your den.
- Tiger Volleyball (Outdoor, energy 5, supplies 4, prep 2) Play a game of Tiger Volleyball.
- Tiger Wiffle Ball (Outdoor, energy 4, supplies 3, prep 2) Play a game of wiffle ball with the den.
Requirement 4
Participate in a service project.
Activities:
- Board Game Collection (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 2, prep 4) Collect game boards for a community center.
- Sock Drive (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 2, prep 4) Sock drive service project.
- Tiger Scouting for Food (Travel, energy 3, supplies 1, prep 5) Participate in your Council-sponsored Scouting for Food event.
