Overview
Here is the opportunity for Tigers and their adult partners to go on an overnight campout. Prior to any activity, use Scouting America SAFE Checklist to ensure the safety of all those involved. All participants in official Scouting America activities should become familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting and applicable program literature or manuals.
Requirements
Requirement 1
Learn about the buddy system and how it works in the outdoors.
Activities:
- Back to Back Buddies (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 1, prep 1) Cub Scout buddies work together to stand up while sitting on the floor back-to-back.
- Who is Being A Buddy? (Indoor, energy 2, supplies 2, prep 2) Using an activity sheet identify who is using the buddy system.
Requirement 2
Before going on the overnight campout, discuss what type of weather is expected and what type of clothes you should wear.
Activities:
- What is the Weather Like There? (Indoor, energy 2, supplies 2, prep 2) Cub Scouts look at a weather report for the campout.
- What to Wear? What to Wear? When Camping (Indoor, energy 5, supplies 4, prep 2) Cub Scouts pick out clothes that are appropriate for different types of weather.
Requirement 3
Pack up your Cub Scout Six Essentials for the campout.
Activities:
- Six Essentials Scavenger Hunt (Indoor, energy 4, supplies 4, prep 2) Cub Scouts go on a scavenger hunt to collect Cub Scout Six Essentials.
- Six Essentials Shopping Spree (Indoor, energy 3, supplies 4, prep 2) Provide Cub Scouts their own Cub Scout Six Essentials.
Requirement 5
Attend a council or district Cub Scout overnight camp or attend a campout with your pack.
Activities:
- Council Camping Tiger (Travel, energy 5, supplies 5, prep 5) Go camping at your local council camp.
- Pack Camping Tiger (Travel, energy 5, supplies 5, prep 5) Go camping with your pack.
